William L. Evansky
William L. Evansky, 95, of Cordova, Tenn., previously of Charleroi and East Pittsburgh, died December 18, 2020, in Cordova.
Born May 23 ,1925, in North Charleroi, he was a son of the late Jacob and Anna Yerega Evansky.
He was a member of various Orthodox Christian parishes over the years, including the Holy Ghost Orthodox Church, Ambridge.
He was a U.S. Air Force World War II veteran in the Pacific Theater.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by first wife Dorothy Barna; his second wife, Helen Gabor; three sisters, Hazel Fayak, Frances Lenhart, Mary Kozubal; one brother, John J. Evansky.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, the Very Rev. Fr. William J. and Debra Evansky; one daughter and son-in-law, Kera and David White; three grandchildren, Thomas (Megan) Evansky, Danielle (the Rev. Deacon Peter) Ilchuk, Kristianna (Nolan) Robinson; four great-grandchildren, Joshua and Jacob Ilchuk, Eva and George Robinson; and many nieces, nephews and other family members.
A private family viewing and service was held in Holy Ghost Orthodox Church, Ambridge, with his son, the Very Rev. Fr. William J. Evansky officiating. Interment followed at Monongahela Cemetery.
