Andrew J. Huffman, III

Andrew J. Huffman III, of Waynesburg, passed away peacefully, in his sleep, at Mon Health Medical Center in Morgantown, after a brief illness.

He was born August 20, 1939, a son of the late Andrew J. Huffman Jr. and Marie Seals Huffman.

Mr. Huffman previously worked at Consolidation Coal Company Blacksville #2 Mine, retiring in 1995 after 28 years of service. He will always be remembered for his love of CB radios, and nice vehicles and especially his 2012 Honda Goldwing Trike, of which he still rode up until this past August. He enjoyed going to the Cracker Barrel and the Huddle House where he met many new friends in both places and you might say that he became part of their furniture. All of the employees loved him and enjoyed his company. He was well taken care of by all and his smile talking about it was priceless.

Surviving are a daughter, Janet (Huffman) Britton of Morgantown; a son, Andrew J. Huffman IV of Carmichaels; a grandson, Michael Britton of Morgantown; a granddaughter, Alicia (Nathan) Baker of Waynesburg; a great-grandson, Colby Baker of Waynesburg; a daughter-in-law, Donna Huffman of Waynesburg; a sister, Weedena (John) Barclay of Henderson, Colorado; two brothers, Carl (Ann) Huffman of Carmichaels and Rex (Patty) Huffman also of Carmichaels; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marionetta Tennant Huffman, who died July 6, 2014; a son, Randy James Huffman, who died September 4, 1964; and a grandson, Adam Britton, who died January 16, 1987.

The family appreciates the doctors, nurses and staff that took the best of care of our father during his time at Mon Health Medical Center; especially to nurse Ashley for holding our father’s hand and not letting him pass alone. You will always be our Angel.

The family is grateful to all friends, family and everyone for all of their prayers during this journey, as you will never be forgotten.

Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home, 5894 Mason-Dixon Highway, Blacksville, W.Va. from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Monday, December 28. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 1 p.m. with Rev. Freddie Eddy, II officiating. Interment will follow in the Olive Cemetery.
