Violet M. Nelan

Violet M. “Vi” Nelan, 92, of Washington, died Tuesday, December 22, 2020, in Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg.

She was born February 24, 1928, in Meadowlands, a daughter of the late John S. and Lena Pearl Wildey Frame.

She was a graduate of Chartiers High School and, out of high school, she worked for a short time as a secretary at Jessup Steel. She then, years later, worked part-time for a few years in the late ’80s at Richey’s Market in Lagonda. She was also a dedicated homemaker.

Mrs. Nelan was a member of the South Franklin Volunteer Fire Department Ladies’ Auxiliary, as well as Bethel Presbyterian Church, and enjoyed crocheting, gardening and baking.

On June 4, 1949, in Prosperity, she married Frank S. Nelan Jr. Mr. Nelan died January 25, 2002.

Surviving are a daughter, Linda (Dan) Irey of Amity; a sister, Dolores Wilson of Garland, Texas; a grandson, Kurt (Ashley) Irey; two great-grandchildren, Parker and Paisley Irey; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are a daughter, Carole Andler; a brother, George Frame; and two sisters, Stella Dorchak and Mary Moskal.

All services will be private.
