Joanne A. Markoff

Joanne A. Markoff, 82, of Marianna, passed away Thursday, May 28, 2020, in Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg.
She was born July 6, 1937, a daughter of the late Lloyd and Mazie Baker.
She worked at Murphy’s 5 and 10 when she graduated, then Greenway Shirt Factory and retired from JCPenney in 2000.
Her greatest enjoyment was bingo, cooking and baking. She could not wait for Mondays so she could bake a cake for the Marianna Volunteer Fire Department.
She is survived by a daughter, Tina Sawicky of Marianna; a son, Sam (Dawn) Markoff of Clarksville; five grandchildren, Jered (Aaliyah) Sawicky of Great Falls, Mont., Amber (Tim) Pierce of Marianna, Samuel (Hayley) Markoff of Elizabeth, and Shayne and Chase Markoff of Clarksville; three great-grandchildren, Bryanna and Colton Pierce of Marianna, and Lucas Markoff of Clarksville; several nieces and nephews; and two men that she adored, Jeff (Linda) Watson of Scenery Hill and Robert (Marilyn) Watson of Acme. She was the last of her immediate family.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, are the love of her life, Harley “Red” Watson; three brothers, Milford Stauffer, Lloyd Baker and Fred Baker; son-in-law Jerry Sawicky; three nephews, Ronald Stauffer, Robin Baker and Jack Baker; another man she adored, Bruce Watson, having their coffee and cookies weekly that he wasn’t allowed; and her beloved grandson, Tyler Markoff.
Funeral services are private and under the direction of the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, Ltd., 2830 Main Street, Beallsville. Interment will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 18, at 9 Rosewood Avenue, Marianna (Covid-19 permitting).
