William M. Hunter

William M. “Tad” Hunter, 71, of Clarksville, died Friday, June 19, 2020, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.

He was born August 30, 1948, in Waynesburg, a son of the late Wyatt Hunter and Mary E. Lewis Hunter Harris.

Tad was a 1966 graduate of Jefferson-Morgan High School and enjoyed sports in school.

He served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam veteran.

Tad worked as a general laborer with Kyowa America in Waynesburg.

He was a member of Little Zion Baptist Church.

Tad was an Eagle Scout master for the Boy Scouts, enjoyed working in the yard and just spending time with family and friends.

Surviving are his longtime companion, Cathy Christopher, with whom he made his home; three sons, William M. Hunter Jr. (Jade) of Oxon Hill, Md., Christopher Hunter of Washington, D.C., and Patrick Hunter of Pittsburgh; a stepson, Daniel Everett of South Carolina; four grandchildren, Sharkeithia, Satasha, Dejan and Kyree; five great-grandchildren, Marvin, Quan, Jaleel, Jaseer and Miracle; a sister, Artie B. Hunsucker of Lithonia, Ga.; a brother, Fred N. Hunter of Carmichaels; and an uncle, Leon Lawning of Appomattox, Va.

Deceased are a daughter, Chocolate; a brother, Samuel W. Hunter; a sister, Rosa E. Hunter Brown; brother-in-law Stanford Hunsucker; and a nephew, Stanford Hunsucker.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 29, in the First Baptist Church of Pitt Gas, 171 First Street, Clarksville, PA 15322, with Pastor James Cherry officiating.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Behm Funeral Home, 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, PA 15344, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor.
