Dorothy K. Zikos
Dorothy K. “Dottie” Zikos, 81, of McMurray, died Thursday, March 5, 2020.
She was born September 21, 1938, in Canonsburg, a daughter of Steve and Stella Pihiou Kokalis.
Dottie, along with her husband, Peter, owned and operated, Peter J. Zikos Insurance Agency.
She was very strong in faith and was an active member of All Saints Greek Orthodox Church in Canonsburg, along with several other churches and the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Pittsburgh. She was very dedicated and loved her work. She enjoyed and supported the Pittsburgh Opera and Symphony.
Surviving are her sister, Vivian (Dean) Statheros of Canonsburg; her niece, Stephanie (Nick) Lipapis; and her great-niece, Leah Lipapis of Canonsburg;
In addition to her parents, Dottie was preceded in death by husband Peter J. Zikos, who died November 9, 2006.
Arrangements are entrusted to Sollon Funeral and Cremation Services, LTD, 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, Phillip L. Sollon, supervisor, 724-746-1000.
Family and friends are welcome from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 9, with Trisagion at 7 p.m., in All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, 601 W. McMurray Road, Canonsburg, PA 15317. Additional visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., the hour of services, Tuesday, March 10, in All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, with His Eminence Metropolitan Savas Zembillas officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests memorial contributions be made to the charity of one’s own choice, in Dorothy Zikos’s name.
