Joseph M. Dolak Jr.
Joseph M. Dolak Jr., 85, of West Pike Run Township, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2020, in his home, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born September 24, 1934, in Daisytown, a son of the late Joseph M. and Elizabeth Gardosik Dolak Sr.
In 1957, he entered and honorably served with the U.S. Army.
For the past 10 years, he was employed as a van driver by Impiccini Bus Lines.
He was a life member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish, Richeyville campus, where he served for many years as an usher. He was also a member of the Hancock-McCune-Horne American Legion Post 705 Centerville, and was a former member of Richeyville Volunteer Fire Department.
Joe was an avid stamp and coin collector. He loved to work around his home and always had some project in the works. Many of his projects came from the time he spent on his “thinking stool.” He was very hard working and a proud and kind husband, father and Pap Pap.
On February 11, 1989, he married Cindy Hundertmark Dolak, who survives.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two daughters, Jo-Jo Wilkinson (Adam) of Stockdale and Maria Wright (Zac) of Fallowfield Township; two grandchildren, Connor and Carly Wilkinson; three sisters, Mary Zuchowski of Richeyville, Sue Ventura of Daisytown and Margie Kostial of Centerville; a brother, Paul Dolak (Lorilee) of Beallsville; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, are a daughter, Paula Jo Dolak, who died April 12, 1973, and two brothers, Andrew J. and Stephen Dolak.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in John B. Greenlee Funeral Home Ltd., 2830 Main Street, Beallsville, where a blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 12. Interment will be in Beallsville Cemetery, with military rites accorded graveside by Centerville American Legion Post 705.
