John H. Quail Sr.
John H. Quail Sr., 83, of Richeyville, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2020, in Mon Valley Care Center.
He was born September 9, 1936, in Vestaburg, a son of the late Erwin and Anna Tirpak Quail.
Mr. Quail was a 1954 graduate of California Area High School and served in the U.S. Air Force.
He was employed as an underground coal miner with Treemont Mining Company, Granville.
John enjoyed hunting in his free time.
On October 14, 1961, he married Myrl A. Fidorek Quail, who survives. They celebrated 58 years of marriage.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are four children, John H. Quail Jr. (Betty) of Centerville, David Allen Quail (Theresa) of Richeyville, Sherry Lynn Thomas (Chuck) of Centerville and Kimberly Ann Phillips of Scenery Hill; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a brother, Irwin Quail (Marge) of Daisytown; a sister, Mary Ann Gee (Jonas) of Daisytown; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, are a sister, Rose Quail, and a brother, Alex Quail.
Friends will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, March 12, in John B. Greenlee Funeral Home Ltd., 2830 Main Street, Beallsville. Interment will be private.
