Helen D. Watters Yoders

Helen D. Watters Yoders – affectionately known as “Bug” and/or “Layla” – was born August 18, 1941, to Harold E. Watters Sr. and Mildred Hart Watters, and passed away Monday, May 4, 2020, after a long illness, with her family by her side.

Helen graduated from Jefferson-Morgan High School in 1959. She married Irvin T. “JR” Yoders Jr. and they were stationed around the United States and abroad during his Air Force career.

They returned to Greene County after his retirement in 1975. Helen worked at several grocery stores and she was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #954 for more than 25 years.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Tawny Koval of Jefferson; a son, Donald (Colleen) Yoders of Myerstown; a sister Judy (Ben) Adamson of Ravenna, Ohio; six grandchildren, Jessica Koval, Karissa (Chris) Burns, John T. Koval, Kala Yoders, Kady Yoders and Kyle Yoders; five great-grandchildren, Khloe Cline, Owen Koval, Aiden, Annabelle and Axel Burns; two sisters-in-law, Emma Schubert and Joan (Bill) Fuller; and several nieces and nephews and their families.

Her husband, Irvin T. “JR” Yoders Jr., preceded her in death; along with her parents; and brother, Harold E. Watters Jr.

Amedisys Hospice of Masontown provided great care and support.

Due to the state and federal guidelines and restrictions for COVID-19 events, the viewing and services are private and entrusted to Behm Funeral Home, 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, PA 15344, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor.
