John C. Kingan Sr.
John C. “Jack” Kingan Sr., 87, of Clarksville, passed away Sunday, October 11, 2020, in his home. He was born July 28, 1933, in East Millsboro, a son of the late Albert Kingan Sr. and Hannah Moore Kingan.
On April 12, 1955, he married Annabelle Moody Kingan, who survives.
Jack was a retired coal miner. He worked for 25 years at Clyde Mine, where he was a member of the United Mine Workers of America and served on the safety committee.
He resided most of his life in the Pitt Gas and Clarksville area. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose in Waynesburg and the Owls Club in Fredericktown. He enjoyed doing woodworking and carpentry projects and working in his yard.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, Ronald Kingan Sr. (Candi) of Clarksville and Gary Kingan of Collinsville, Ill.; one daughter, Wendy Hager (Greg) of Clarksville; seven grandchildren, Jonathan and Miranda Kingan, Ron Kingan Jr., and Ryan, Steven, Ian and Madelynn Kingan; nine great-grandchildren; and one sister, Dorothy Cyr of Pitt Gas.
Deceased are a son, John C. “Jack” Kingan Jr.; a brother, Albert Kingan Jr.; and a great-grandchild.
Friends will be received from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 14, in Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, Gregory P. Rohanna supervisor, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 15, followed by interment in Greene County Memorial Park.
