Deborah L. Harter
Deborah L. Harter, of Washington, passed away, in her home, Sunday, April 11, 2021.
She was born November 24, 1951, a daughter of the late Herbert and Helen D. Yaros Guidas Dollish.
She is survived by her husband, John W. Harter, with whom she celebrated 50 years of marriage January 16. Also surviving are son Jon C. Harter (Sarah) of Washington; one grandson, Westley Jensen Harter; a brother, Dennis H. Dollish (Kathe) of Tucson, Ariz.; a niece, Hannah Katherine Dollish; a cousin, Janet Carey; second cousin Gregg Carey (Kim); and two great cousins, Rhiannon Michaels (David) and Jennifer DiNardo (Dillan).
One of her favorite things to do was to spoil her grandson, Westley, and simply be a grandmother.
Debbie loved to cook hosting holiday dinners, discover recipes and going shopping. She enjoyed trips with her cousin, Janet to many countries in Europe, the Caribbean, Mexico and many destinations within the United States with her many friends.
Debbie was a graduate of Washington High School Class of 1969. She was employed by Drankenfield, Joy Manufacturing, and also as the secretary at St. Hilary School.
She enjoyed politics, and was past president of Washington County Democratic Women, and served as jury commissioner assistant at Washington County Courthouse. Most recently, she was the office manager at SWPA Environmental Health Project.
Friends will be received from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday, April 16, in Dale D. DeAngelo Funeral Home, 1290 Jefferson Avenue, Washington. A blessing service will be held in private, with Father Carmen D’Amico officiating.
