Louise Stauffer Rhoads
Louise Stauffer Rhoads, 96, of Upper St. Clair, passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2021, in Friendship Village of South Hills.
She was born December 9, 1924, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of William and Louise Bevington Jones.
Mrs. Rhoads was a graduate of Perry High School in Pittsburgh.
Louise was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Canonsburg, where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the choir.
Along with several other women, she started the Chartiers-Houston Community Library in 1965, serving as business manager and librarian until her retirement in 1993.
Louise enjoyed sewing, needlework, gardening, reading and baking.
Married twice, her first husband, Howard Stauffer, died in 1984; and her second husband, Wilbert Rhoads, passed away in 2009.
Surviving are four daughters, Suzanne Mason (Randy) of Palmyra, Charlotte Freil (Scott) of Bridgeville, Paula Klass (Rusty) of Emmaus and Barbara Stauffer (Cia) of Anchorage, Alaska; a brother, William B. Jones of Marrieta, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, August 21, in the First United Methodist Church, 161 W. Pike Street, Canonsburg, PA 15317.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner/Supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342.

The family wishes to express their appreciation for the care their mother received from the staff at Friendship Village and Gallagher Hospice.
