Andrew Hython
Andrew Hython, 86, of Canonsburg, died Saturday, August 14, 2021.
He was born December 18, 1934, in Canonsburg, a son of Andrew and Catherine Thornton Hython.
Mr. Hython proudly served his country with the United States Army during Vietnam.
He was a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church, the Masonic Order Free & Accepted Masons and James T. Dorsey Lodge #114 of Maryland.
Prior to his retirement, he worked for the military with the Army & Air Force Exchange.
Surviving are his brother, Frederick Orlando (June) Hython of Cecil Township; his nephew, Robert Sherrow of Ocoee, Fla.; great-nephews, Robert Sherrow III, Calvin Sherrow and Jeromy Sherrow; his cousins; his family in Germany; and his longtime companion, Della Wise.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hildegard Anna Lauterman, who died January 9, 1983; his stepfather, John Thornton; brother, John Richard Hython; and his sister, Naomi Sherrow.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, in the Sollon Funeral and Cremation Services, LTD, 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, Phillip L. Sollon, supervisor, 724-746-1000. Services will be held at noon Wednesday, in the funeral home. Burial will take place in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
