James H. Springer
James H. Springer, 75, of Washington, son of the late Howard and Mary Mandus Springer, passed away Thursday, August 12, 2021, at Allegheny General Hospital.
Born in Canonsburg in 1945, Jim joined the U.S. Air Force after graduating from Peters Township High School, class of 1963. During his time in the Air Force, he was an electronics specialist on fighter planes during the Vietnam War. After his time in the military, Jim lived in Atlanta for most of his life. During his career with the U.S. Post Office, Jim maintained the sorting machines that sent letters, postcards and packages for delivery.
He enjoyed scuba diving, hot air ballooning and all things aeronautics. He could spend hours, if not days, in the Smithsonian Air and Space Museums.
James is survived by sister, Cathy (Bill) Shader of Venetia and their two children, Neil (Eileen) Shader of Camp Hill and Susie (Bert) Semonian of McMurray; as well as two grandnieces and two grandnephews.
He is remembered as a kind and gentle soul, who was always quick with a joke.
