John C. Heyman
John C. “Chris” Heyman, 60, died Tuesday, August 17, 2021, in his home, surrounded by his family.
He was born May 25, 1961, in Washington, a son of the late Gilbert Heyman and Lois R. Gatling Calloway.
Mr. Heyman was a 1979 graduate of Washington High School and went on to work for Davin Corporation.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman, loved the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates, and rooted for his Alma Mater, Washington High School.
He was a 23-year veteran of the U.S. Army, and served in Desert Storm under the 630th Transportation Company.
On August 3, 1993, he married Debra L. Bogan, who survives.
Also surviving are his brother, David (Tara) Gatling of Washington; five sisters, Helen Gatling, Rolanda Charlie, Sonie Heyman and Sabrina Heyman, all of Washington, and Sanronda Heyman of Pittsburgh; an aunt, Clara Harper; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a sister, Phyllis Gatling Harris; his grandparents, Robert L. Gatling Sr. and Frances M. Gatling; aunt Mildred Ivery; uncles Robert Gatling Jr. and Donald Harper; and his stepfather, John Calloway.
Friends will be received from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., the hour of services, Wednesday, August 25, in the Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, with the Reverend Debra L. Mason officiating. Interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville.
