Rick worked as a middle school science teacher at Peters Township School District in McMurray. After retiring from teaching, he worked as a CRPC certified financial advisor for Copeland Financial Group Inc., Kades-Margolis and Stellfox Financial Services, LLC.

During his life, Rick was heavily involved in many activities over the years. This included coaching the Peters Township Head Varsity Boys and Assistant Varsity Girls Basketball teams. He organized several local youth basketball camps (Jr. Hoopers), high school all-star basketball games (Washington-Greene County All-Stars) and was a commentator of numerous televised Peters Township High School football and basketball games. Rick also managed and played in two adult baseball leagues (South Hills Pittsburgh 38+ and 45+.)

Rick enjoyed reading and talking about history, watching movies, but most of all, had a love for sports. Rick was an avid golfer throughout his life and could always be found watching or attending Pittsburgh Steelers (a season ticket holder for over 50 years) and Pittsburgh Pirates games. Since becoming a grandfather, what Rick enjoyed most was spending time and sharing his passions with his grandkids.
