Douglas Alan Higinbotham
Douglas Alan Higinbotham, 60, of Chapel Hill, N.C., formerly of Washington, died August 19, 2021, following a lengthy illness.
He was born March 5, 1961, in Washington, a son of Eleanor Hart VanDyke and the late Clarence Higinbotham.
Mr. Higinbotham was a 1979 graduate of Bethlehem-Center High School. He was a steelworker employed by Allegheny Technologies Inc., formerly Allegheny Ludlum, in the Washington millworks for over 19 years.
He was a lifelong member of the Richeyville Volunteer Fire Company and also a member of the Red Knights Motorcycle Club, N.C. 20.
Mr. Higinbotham enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking, NASCAR, participating in fundraisers and was a motorcycle enthusiast.
On June 6, 1998, he married Susan Chadwick Higinbotham, who survives.
Also surviving, in addition to his wife and mother, are two daughters, Randi Ruela (Thales), Erica Higinbotham; one son, Ryan Higinbotham; two brothers, Scott and Jeff (Julie) Higinbotham; one sister, Sheryl Vito (Clete); and one granddaughter, Amelia Ruela.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., the hour of services, Saturday, August 28, in the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, 2830 Main Street, Beallsville.
