Robert “Bob” MtJoy, 91, of Hideaway Hills, Ohio, formerly of Carmichaels, where he attended high school, passed peacefully, August 22, 2021.

Bob was a man of integrity, humility and lover of all things aviation. He graduated from the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics (PIA). He loved the Buckeyes, Steelers and Iron City beer. Bob spent most of his time with family, playing golf or cruising down the road in “Ruby” his red Corvette. He was a Korean Conflict veteran and served 22 years in the U.S. Air Force and 35 years with the U.S. Government where he worked on various programs including Hellfire Missile, OV-10, T-2, B1B and as a branch chief of the Manufacturing Division.

He had a sense of humor, quick wit and his charm was infectious. He was a self-made Mr. Fix-it who was willing to take on any project, much to his wife’s chagrin.

Bob is survived by his wife of 41 years, Linda; sons, Robert (Sundra) MtJoy Jr., Bruce (Wanda) MtJoy and Jeffrey (Nikki) MtJoy; daughters, Amy (Ross) Rader and Melissa MtJoy; grandchildren, Christopher (Darcy) O’Daniel, Roxann (Tyson) MtJoy, Levi (Brad) MtJoy, Brynn, Lauren and Abby MtJoy; great-granddaughter, Clara McRee; sisters-in-law, Laura Denen and Nancy (Doug) Wilson; nephew, Bill Denen; and nieces, Kristen (Seth) Asman, Kelli Wilson and Kasey (Matt) Johansen; several grand-nieces and nephews and many friends including his loyal friend of 70 years, Richard (Sally) Bethel.

A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, September 3, in the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home Chapel, 405 N. Columbus Street, Lancaster, Ohio 43130. Caring Cremation has taken place. Calling hours will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday.
