Cheryl Y. Williams

Min. Cheryl Y. Williams, 71, of Washington, went to her heavenly home Tuesday, August 24, 2021. She was born September 10, 1949, in Brownsville, a daughter of the late Celestine W. Willis Harris and James Williams Sr., one of nine siblings.

Min. Cheryl retired as an accountant from Accellent Inc. and H&R Block, where she worked during tax season, although her true calling was to preach the Word of God.

Min. Cheryl was a phenomenal, faithful woman who loved her Lord, her family, church and community. Her faith was an essential part of her life as she dedicated her life to mentoring the youth and ministering to the masses.

She was a member of Apostolic Christian Temple, where she served in many ministries, including the church financial treasurer, First Lady Appreciation Committee chairlady, Shepherd’s Committee vice chairlady, Life Center dining room committee leader, and served faithfully as one of the ministers of Apostolic Christian Temple.

She was an excellent cook and was known for her mac and cheese, candied yams, sweet potato pie and coleslaw, to name a few.

Min. Cheryl loved her family and is survived by her daughter, Shannon Webb of Pittsburgh; her granddaughters, Angelita Garcia of Los Angeles, Calif., Arielle Garcia of San Diego, Calif., Raami Gauthier of Pittsburgh and Zoe Webb of Pittsburgh; her great-granddaughter, Mila Jones of Pittsburgh; siblings James (Debbie) Williams of Clarksville, Sandra Williams of Harrisburg, Celestine Person of Phoenix, Ariz., the Rev. Donna (the Rev. Barry) Chambers of Mechanicsburg, Elder Carla (Bishop Stanley) Smith of Chester, Va., Lorenzo (Ella) Harris of North Pole, Alaska, and Russell Harris of Fredericktown.

Min Cheryl joins her daughter, Tina Williams; and grandsons Dale Jr., Stefon; sister Candice Williams; and parents in what will be a joyous reunion in their heavenly home.

She was immensely loved and touched the hearts of many. She will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. hour of service Wednesday, September 1, in Apostolic Christian Temple, 164 Wylie Avenue, Washington, Pastor Myron C. Jones II officiating. Interment at Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.

Final celebration has been gently placed in the hands of House of Jackson Memorial Chapel, 546 Thompson Avenue, Donora, Karl Jackson, funeral director, 724-379-5420.
