Shane McKeown
In loving memory of Shane McKeown, the man, the myth, the legend.
Born in Brookings, S.D., to the late Gordon and Maxine McKeown.
On Tuesday, November 30, 2021, he ended his journey in Washington, at the age of 66.
He had a smile that would light up the room. He was a good man and friend. A lover of reading, gardening, basketball, baseball, traveling, music, and “the Duke”. He worked hard and never quit.
Shane is survived by his children, Isaiah (Natlie), Anna (Terry), Meghen and Laurie (Kevin), that he loved with all his heart.
He was the best grandpa to Kadin and Kinley, and was eagerly anticipating the arrival of Zachariah who he called “the twinkle in his eye”.
He is also survived by brother, Steve (Joan); and sisters, Beth (Rich), LaVia (Jim), Rebecca (Pete) and Mary (John); as well as his aunt, Thallis; many cousins, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, with whom he cherished every moment.
Service and celebration of life will be planned for summer 2022 in Elkton, S.D.
