John Toporcer
John Toporcer, 95 of Clarksville, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2021, in Washington Hospital, Greene.
He was born June 20, 1926, in Vestaburg, a son of the late Steve and Mildred Rolskey Toporcer.
Mr. Toporcer was a U. S. Army Veteran, serving from 1944 to 1946. For his service he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Army Occupation Medal (Germany), European African Middle Eastern Theater Service Ribbon, and American Theater Service Ribbon.
John was employed with J&L Vesta # 7, LTV Steel Pittsburgh and US Steel Kirby as both a coal miner and steel worker for over 45 years retiring in 1990.
He was a longtime member of the Clarksville United Missionary Church and a member of the UMWA.
John enjoyed golfing, fishing, and liked to hunt for lost golf balls.
Surviving are a son, Randy Toporcer (Sylvia) of New Stanton; one granddaughter, Amanda Dobson; two brothers, Frank Toporcer of Brownsville, and William Toporcer of Washington; several nieces and nephews.
Deceased in addition to his parents, are a sister, Anne Noska; and two brothers, Mike and Steve Toporcer.
Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, in the Greenlee’s Fredericktown Funeral Home, Ltd., 42 Bank Street, at Crawford Road, Fredericktown.
Funeral Services will be held graveside, at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 17, 2021, in Greene County Memorial Park.
