Dorothy Anderson Warabow
Dorothy Anderson Warabow, 94, of Canonsburg, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 18, 2021, in Halcyon Senior Living, Bridgeville. She was born July 27, 1927, in Muse, a daughter of the late John and Helen Cashimer Anderson.
She was a lifelong member of St. Patrick Church of St. Oscar Romero Parish.
Dorothy had many jobs in her life including executive of housekeeping at The Holiday Inn in Meadowlands. She was an avid bowler and participated into her 70’s. She loved attending Curves Fitness Center and was still going strong until a short time ago. She also enjoyed playing the slots at the Meadows Casino, where she won more times than not.
On September 2, 1950, in St. Genevieve Roman Catholic Church, she married Joseph Warabow, who passed away February 19, 2007.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her son, John (Lori) Warabow of Eighty-Four; her grandchildren, whom she dearly loved, Joseph and Elizabeth Warabow, and Rico Romeo; nieces, Renee Bothwell, Nancy Burnside and Kathy Robson; and a nephew, David Kvindis, who all loved and kept in touch with Aunt Dottie weekly. Dorothy was the last of her immediate family.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, are her husband; and her son, Lawrence J. Warabow; brother, John Anderson; and sisters, Mildred Anderson, Gladys Marshall and Edna Robson.
Friends and family are welcome from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 21, in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra LFD, owner/supervisor, Erin E. Jones LFD, 304 W. Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120, where a blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 22.
Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Township.
