Irene P. Haluchak Leach

Irene P. “Dolly” Haluchak Leach, 91, of Monongahela, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 18, 2021, surrounded by her loving family.

Born November 24, 1930, in Charleroi, she resided in the valley her entire life, and was the daughter of Harry and Mary Woytovich Haluchak.

A 1948 graduate of Charleroi High School, Dolly loved to travel, flowers and spending time with her family.

A faithful member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish (St. Anthony Church) in Monongahela, she belonged to their Altar Rosary Christian Mother Society and the Ladies of Charity. She was a former member of the Monongahela Woman’s Club and had served on the Board of the Mon-Valley YMCA.

Surviving are her husband of 70 years, Regis J. Leach, Jr., whom she married October 6, 1951; three sons and daughters-in-law, Regis III., and Annette Leach, John and Diane Leach, and Mark and Doretta Leach; five daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Steven Bogdan, of Monongahela, Linda and John Wohar, of California, Kathy and Michael Wyland, of Monongahela, Nancy Markovich – Mackenzie (Carl), and Judy and Philip Arrigo, of Clinton; a sister, Dolores “Mitzy” Maksematz, of N. Charleroi; 29 grandchildren; and 41 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Irene Haluchak, of Speers; along with many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her six brothers, Michael, Simon, Theodore, John, Nick and Adam Haluchak; and two sisters, Florence Sowden and Julia Kook; and a son-in-law, Dr. Joseph Markovich.

Friends will be received at the Marshall Marra Funeral Home, 216 Chess Street, Monongahela, 724-258-6767, marshallmarrafuneralhome.com from 2 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday. Blessing prayers will be held in the funeral home at 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday December 22, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Andrew the Apostle Parish, Monongahela, beginning at noon.

Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery (Carroll Twp.).
