Clara May Horne
Clara May Horne, 90, of Marianna, passed away Saturday, February 20, 2021, in Presbyterian Senior Care, Washington.
She was born December 7, 1930, in Spraggs, a daughter of the late Donald and Nellie Zimmerman Garee.
Clara was a 1948 graduate of West Bethlehem High School and a 1951 graduate of the Washington Hospital School of Nursing.
She was employed as a registered nurse at Centerville Clinic and later at Albert Gallatin Home Health with 30 years of service retiring in 1992.
Mrs. Horne was a lifelong member of the Zollarsville United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed traveling and gardening and was famous for her flowers.
On September 9, 1951, she married James M. Horne Jr., who died November 18, 1996.
Surviving are two children, Karen Spin (Robert) of Marianna and Terry Horne (Dora) of Scenery Hill; four grandchildren, Karlen Nesto (George) of Richeyville, Kristoffer Murray of Columbus, Ohio, Leeanne Cuddy (Michael) of Dover, Ohio, and Kati Horne of Carbondale; eight great-grandchildren, Jacob Staley, Vanessa Pinkney, Natasha Pinkney, Destyni Murray, Anthony Murray, Taylor Murray, Ethan Cuddy and Anna Cuddy; one great-great-grandchild, Benjamin Staley; three stepgrandchildren, Vincent Calabrese of Big Run, Rebecca Ippolito (David) of Woodcliff Lake, N.J., and Anthony Calabrese of Canonsburg; one brother, Glenn Garee (Dorothy) of Lagonda; one niece, Bonnie McAnallen (Dan) of Washington; along with several great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are private and under the direction of the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, Ltd., Beallsville. Interment will be in Horn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Gateway Hospice, 95 W. Beau Street, Suite 510, Washington, PA 15301.
A public celebration of life service will be announced at a later date.
