Shannon Lynn Sanders, of Coal Center, passed away February 22, 2021, after a short battle with Liver Disease.

Shannon was born to Rickie and Cheryl Johnston Brown, in Mooresville, Indiana.

After graduating from Mooresville High School in 1993, Shannon landed her first job as a caretaker for St. Vincent’s/New Hope of Indiana for 13 years.

In 2017, she met John Weckoski, and they wed in 2019.

When Shannon had her twin children, Kaylenna and Kaleb, (Shannon overcame being widowed and raising her children), she decided to dedicate her life to being a fantastic and wonderful mother. Shannon excelled at propping up her family and supporting them through the many passions and difficulties of their lives. Whether that was supporting her children or family through life’s challenges through her tenacity, she made it her mission to improve the lives of others.

Shannon was passionate and loved to travel. When she wasn’t filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found on a cruise in St. Martin Island in the Caribbean, Florida or Maine, practicing her sense of humor that would light up a room. Shannon had an infectious smile and was generous to nearly a fault and at times would buy groceries for the next person in line and hopefully not get caught. We will miss this angel greatly.

Shannon enjoyed the outdoors and traveling to central Pennsylvania to enjoy the serene forest of Clinton County along with the abundance of wildlife and beauty of nature’s forest and great vistas. She caught her first trout in a native Brookie stream.

Surviving, in addition to her parents, are her husband, John Weckoski of Coal Center; children, Kaylenna Sanders of Mooresville, Indiana and Kaleb Sanders of Avon, Indiana; granddaughter, Bella Sanders; brother, Ricky Brown Jr. of Avon (spouse Kristi); and nieces, Faith and Elizabeth Brown of Avon.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, Love to the Rescue, Processing Center, P.O. Box 1510, Ranson, WV 25438-4510.
