Rosemary Terkay
Rosemary Terkay, 64, of Canonsburg, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, January 9, 2021.
She was born June 5, 1956, in Washington, a daughter of John and Josephine Lauricia.
Rosemary was a 1974 graduate of Canon-McMillan High School. She then studied Interior Design at Bauder Fashion College, in Miami, Fla., where she was a natural in her trade.
Rosemary was an active member of the St. Patrick worship site of St. Oscar Romero Parish where she volunteered for various church fundraisers and activities. She was a social member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191 where she had numerous friends and volunteered at the Lenten Fish Fries.
Prior to her retirement, she worked for Canon McMillan School District for 20 years. She was a dedicated wife, mother, Nonna and homemaker.
She loved more than anything spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved taking trips to the beach and enjoyed traveling abroad. Rose found solice gardening and making her homemade tomato sauce.
Surviving are daughters, Jennifer (David) Gross of Canonsburg, Deanna (Kenny) Koot of Canonsburg, son Matthew (Sarah) Terkay, of Washington and daughter, Angela Terkay, of Lawrence; six grandchildren, Vincent and Sloane Gross, Aubrey and Meckenzie Koot, Ava and Mia Terkay; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert M. “Dee” Terkay; and her brother, Angelo Lauricia, who died in infancy.
Friends and family are welcome from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, in Sollon Funeral and Cremation Services, LTD, 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, Phillip L. Sollon, supervisor, 724-746-1000.
In the continued interest of public safety, facial coverings are required and state regulations will be enforced. Departing prayers will be recited at 9:30 a.. Thursday in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian burial in St. Patrick Church at 10 a.m.
Burial in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, is private.
