Charles Lyons Sr.
Charles Lyons Sr., 82, of Burgettstown, passed away unexpectedly in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Wednesday January 27, 2021, from injuries sustained in a fall at his home.
He was born June 3, 1938, in Frankfort Springs, a son of the late L. Wayne and Helen Arnold Lyons.
A proud veteran of the United States Navy, he served on the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt.
He was reunited with his beloved wife, Stella Marie Hoberek Lyons, whom he married March 11, 1958 and who passed away just a few months ago on July 9, 2020.
He is survived by his four children, Charles Lyons Jr., Valerie Lyons, Rebecca Guta and Janet Myers and husband Brian; eight grandchildren, Jamie Bittner, Rachele Preston, Cammey Singer, Brittany Harps and husband Daryl, Stephanie Bruce, Leah Bruce, David Singer, Patrick Varner and Scott Pond; 10 great-grandchildren, Caleb Clark, Skylar Bruce, Cory Cranston, Raelee Dvorsak, Ava Harps, Jaxson Spencer, Kiera and Colton Singer, Lennon Ely and Tiahna Grant; sisters, Dorothy Lyons, Adele Brown, Vennie Mellot; a brother, Walter Lyons; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to his parents and wife, are his granddaughter, Erica Lynn Guta; great-grandson, Jayden Spencer; and a brother, Leslie Lyons.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, February 1, in the Lee & Martin Funeral Home, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 2, with Pastor Karen Jacobs officiating.
