John Michael Tarr Jr.
John Michael “Ozzie” Tarr Jr., 69, of Brownsville, died June 30, 2021.
He was born March 22, 1952, in Youngstown, Ohio, a son of the late John Michael and Isabel Tarr Sr.
A graduate of Austin High School in Ohio, John worked many years in retail. He worked for Walmart for 15 years as an assistant manager.
He spent his time shooting pool and played in a league. He loved to cook and especially enjoyed barbeque, and spending time with friends and family. He had a great sense of humor and loved telling jokes.
John was Roman Catholic by faith.
On July 14, 2005, John married Barbara Edgar, who survives.
Also surviving are sons, John Tarr, Kenny Chipps, William Andrew Chipps, Scott Shaffer, and Shane (Crystal) Shaffer; daughters, Sheila Tarr and Amanda Feigh; brother Chris (Stephinie) Tarr; sisters, Kathie Butch and Sharon Carnivale; 16 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the time of service, Tuesday, July 6, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, PA 15301, with Pastor Layman Davis officiating.
Interment will follow in North Ten Mile Cemetery, Amity.
