Bill Zemaitis Sr.
Bill “Dicey” Zemaitis Sr., 86, of Fort Wayne, Ind., passed away Sunday, May 30, 2021, in his home. He was born in Westland, to the late Stanley and Anna Zemaitis.
Bill worked more than 50 years as a bricklayer with the BAC Local #4 Merriville, Ind., Chapter. He proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of the American Legion Post 47. Bill was a Knights of Columbus 3rd Degree member of Council 10596 of Munster, Ind., and also a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church of Fort Wayne.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Shirley Veydt Zemaitis of Fort Wayne; children Bill (Amy) Zemaitis Jr. of Fort Wayne, Bob (Valerie) Zemaitis of Crown Point, Ind., Brian (Ginnie) Zemaitis of Wesley Chapel, Fla., and Brenda Zemaitis of Fort Wayne; nine grandchildren and one great-grandson; a brother; and a sister.
Bill was preceded in death by eight siblings.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 9, in St. Patrick Church, 317 W. Pike Street, Canonsburg, followed by burial at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Road, Bridgeville.
A Celebration of Life at Lindenwood Country Golf Club, 360 Galley Road, Canonsburg, will immediately follow burial.
