Wilma Kennedy Williamson
Wilma Kennedy Williamson, 89, was released from the grasp of Alzheimer’s disease Wednesday, July 7, 2021, in Brookdale Montrose.
She was preceded in death by parents Florabel Kennedy Davidson and Melvin Scott Davidson; siblings Thomas Richard Davidson and Patricia Joanne Spooner.
She is survived by her children, Barbara Williamson-Dungey (Thomas), Katherine Lynn Williamson and Robert Scott Williamson; sister-in-law Lois Parker; cousin Sue Kautenberger. She was loved by numerous nieces and nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews. She leaves behind many friends.
Born in Fort Totten, Queens County, Long Island, N.Y., She was a self-proclaimed military brat. Willie loved being a nurse. She graduated from the Washington Hospital School of Nursing. Moving to Akron, she worked her entire career at Akron General Medical Center. There she earned the respect of her co-workers and made lifelong friendships.
Willie loved to travel, especially to the beach, shopping, gardening, lunch and dinners with friends, and more shopping.
Special thanks to the staff and hospice of Brookdale for their excellent care of Wilma. Cremation has taken place. Per Wilma’s wishes, there will not be a funeral. She will be buried at Lakewood Cemetery on W. Waterloo Road at a future date.
