Matthew Fisher

Matthew Fisher, 89, of Washington, passed away Monday, July 12, 2021, in Bridgeville Rehabilitation and Care Center.

He was born October 28, 1931, a son of Walter J. Fisher and Barbara McCartney Duncan.

Matt enjoyed fishing and tinkering with lawn mowers.

He was a member of the Pulaski and Polish clubs in Washington.

Robinson Pipe Company employed him as a sanitary system technician.

On July 3, 1954, he married Martha D. Fisher, who preceded him in death December 13, 2020.

Surviving are his children, Bonnie (Edgar) Myers of West Alexander, Barbara Mitchell of Washington, Cynthia (Richard) Nixon of McDonald, Frances Montgomery of West Finley, John (Missy) Fisher of Washington, Matthew D. Fisher of Washington, William Fisher of Clarkston, Wash., and Walter Joseph Fisher of West Alexander; and a sister, Donna Fay Allen of Washington. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Deceased are his siblings, Walter, Gene, Elizabeth, Harriet, Ann, Effie and Josephine.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the time of a funeral service, Friday, July 16, in Dale D. DeAngelo Funeral Home, 1290 Jefferson Avenue, Washington, with Pastor Steve Parkhill officiating. Interment will follow in North Buffalo Cemetery.
