Donald D. Carl Sr.
Donald D. Carl Sr., 75, of Washington, died Thursday, July 15, 2021, in his home.
He was born September 21, 1945, in Washington, a son of the late Erwin and Anna McCalmont Carl.
Don graduated from Avella High School and retired from Yellow Freight Trucking.
He was a member of Teamsters Union #585 and #249, and American Legion Post #175.
Don served his country during the Vietnam conflict in the United States Army.
On September 24, 1966, Don married Mary J. McCullough, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Donald D. Carl Jr. of Bentleyville; daughters Traci Sims (Clark) of Lone Pine, and Christine Brown (Frank) of Washington; brother James “Fred” Carl (Donna) of Pickerington, Ohio; sister Norma Jean Kelso (the late Dave) of Avella; grandchildren Braden and Dane Carl, Tiffany Hoye (Shane), Kyle Sims, Kain and Raelee Brown; and great-grandchildren Reagan and Kalan Hoye; along with several nieces and nephews.
Don was preceded in death by his brother, Robert “Edward” Carl.
Friends will be received from 1 to 3 p.m., the time of service, Sunday, July 18, with military honors by American Legion Honor Guard Post #175, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, PA 15301. Pastor Gary Gibson will officiate the service.
