Jimmie Lewis Ward

Jimmie Lewis Ward, 72, of Canonsburg, died Thursday, July 15, 2021, in his home, following an extended illness.

He was born December 29, 1948, in Buffalo, N.Y., a son of Jim and Susan Lynch Ward.

Jimmie was a graduate of Canon-McMillan High School and had worked for Tatano’s in Canonsburg.

Mr. Ward had served his country with the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam.

He loved playing basketball, watching sports and especially spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving are his companion, Roberta Milton; eight children, Aleasa Ward and Theresa Ward, both of Donora, Shelby Robinson of Pittsburgh, Daniel Yarbrough of Kansas City, Missouri, Jimmie Ward Jr. of Buffalo, N.Y., Jason Lewis of Brownsville and Ellen and Michael Milton. both of Canonsburg; four brothers, Henry Ward of Sacramento, Calif. and Anthony Ward, Donald Quates and Larry Quates, all of Buffalo, N.Y.; three sisters, Gertrude Lester, Anne Turner and Doreatha Ward, all of Buffalo, N.Y.; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A brother, William “Sonny” Ward, is deceased.

A memorial to celebrate Jimmie’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 21, in the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner/Supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342.
