Charles Fredrick Staley

Charles Fredrick “Uncle Chuck” Staley, 89, of Washington, died Friday, July 9, 2021, in Southmont of Presbyterian Senior Care.

He was born July 13, 1931, in Cameron, W.Va., a son of the late George and Ella Isiminger Staley.

Mr. Staley worked for Brockway Glass for 33 years. After his time at Brockway, he worked as a janitor at Central Assembly of God, Houston, where he was a longtime member. In recent years, he has attended New Dominion Birth Kingdom Ministries, Washington.

He volunteered at the Washington Senior Center in many capacities, but spent most of that time preparing meals for Meals on Wheels.

Mr. Staley served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

On February 2, 1958, in Parkersburg, W.Va., he married the love of his life, Esther Marie Nessleroad, who died March 11, 1994.

Surviving are a son, George (Vicki) Staley of Hazlewood, Mo.; two brothers, Dick Staley of Columbus, Ohio, and Carl Staley of Ohio; two granddaughters, Jessica and Madison Staley; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are a brother, Bob Staley; and three sisters, Evelyn Ralston, Lottie Funk and Elizabeth Ralston.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 23, in Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 24. Interment will be private.
