Joseph J. Tunno
Joseph J. Tunno, 86, of Hanover Township, passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2021, in Weirton Medical Center. He was born March 11, 1935, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Biagio and Clara Morelli Tunno.
He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Rose Smarrella, Esther DeSantis and Marie Dunn; brothers David Tunno, Alfonso Tunno and Angelo Tunno.
Joe was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Burgettstown. He was a United States Army, Korean War veteran, and a 1953 graduate of Burgettstown Union High School.
He loved golfing with his brother-in-law, John Dunn and the Seniors Golf League at Woodview Golf Course.
He previously was employed for 25 years at Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company (A & P Grocery) at the McDonald and Burgettsown locations. He then retired from the railroad at Weirton Steel Corp. However, he always remained a produce guy!
Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Barbara Marsella Tunno; daughter Denise Tunno; sons Joseph Alan Tunno, Douglas Lee Tunno (Sherry), William John Tunno; sister Clara Lee Robinson (Gerald); six grandchildren, Brett Joseph Tunno (Kristen), Sean Douglas Tunno, Kristen Ashlee Orndoff (Scott), Amanda Tunno, Tyler Tunno, Samantha Jo Tunno; and three great-grandchildren.
There will be no visitation.
Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Weirton, W.Va.
