Tina Elizabeth Lee Shrader
Tina Elizabeth Lee Shrader, 47, of Washington, passed away Saturday, July 24, 2021, in the Greenery Nursing Home in Canonsburg, after a long and difficult 15-year fight against multiple sclerosis.
Tina, born February 16, 1974, to Cheryl Martino White, who married Donald White and gave his name to the family. She was the oldest of three daughters, (Jayme, Dawn). Tina attended and graduated from Trinity High School in 1992, where she practiced dancing, gymnastics and cheerleading, and excelled well in her classes.
In high school she worked at a local restaurant, Bonanza, where she met her future husband of eight years, John Nathan Shrader Jr. By 1992, they were married with their first child on the way. After separating, she stayed a strong single woman supported by her children and friends. She was a stay-at-home mom, who took joy in the care of her children and home. She loved filling the home with nature, including her favorite plants, bamboo and spider plants (or spider babies as she called them), animals and lots of colorful, eccentric decor. Tina loved her animals; she had multiple ferrets, a parakeet, a rabbit and cats.
Tina was a very artistic and creative personality that shined through the color changing of her hair and the hobbies she enjoyed. She painted, sketched and crafted many things during the ups and downs of her struggle with Multiple Sclerosis.
Tina is survived by her two children, Shaylynne Nicole (Shawn) Hunter and John Nathan (Emily) Shrader III; and her grandson, John Nathan Shrader IV; her mother, Cheryl White and Donald White; her two sisters, Jayme (TJ) Hood and Dawn (Josh) Nelson. She is also survived by her grandmother, Betty J. White; along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Deceased are her grandparents, James and Betty Martino, Donald White Sr.; and her aunt, Marilyn Swantek.
Family and friends are welcome to join her memorial from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 29, in Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317.
