Kenneth D. Alderson
Kenneth D. Alderson, 78, of Washington, died Friday, June 4, 2021, in Premiere Washington Health Center.
He was born January 2, 1943, in Canonsburg, a son of Clare and Nellie Mae Bird Alderson.
Mr. Alderson was a 1960 graduate of Chartiers-Houston High School and studied electronics technology at Allegheny Institute of Technology.
Ken was a member of the Pennsylvania Air National Guard for three years from February 1964 to February 1967.
He was employed as a test technician for RCA in Meadow Lands and Gibbsboro, N.J. and then Axera in Lawrence for over 45 years, retiring in 2015.
Mr. Alderson was a member of the Fountain of Life Church in Washington and a former member of the American Legion.
Ken was an ordained minister and a collector of all types of electronics, coins, watches, trains and knives.
On April 8, 1965, he married Kathleen Henderson, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Jeffrey Alderson of Washington; a daughter, Christine Kovacich of Hagerstown, Md.; a grandson, Shane Kovacich; and an aunt, Jean Stanko of Canonsburg.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner/Supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 9, with Rev. George Relic officiating.
