Norma Louise Windsheimer
Norma Louise Windsheimer, 104, of Burgettstown, Hanover Township, passed away peacefully Monday morning, June 21, 2021, at home on her farm.
She was born September 6, 1916, in Oakdale, the oldest child of William and Louise Henrietta Longstreth.
After graduating from Oakdale High School with 12 straight years of perfect attendance, she took the train each day into Pittsburgh, where she worked for Bell Telephone as an operator.
She and her husband purchased their dairy farm in Hanover Township in 1959, where she worked in all capacities, and is still operated by her children.
She was a lifelong member of the Oakdale United Presbyterian Church, where in 1941 she married Harry Joseph Windsheimer, who passed away December 26, 1986.
She is survived by her four children, Harry Ronald Windsheimer and wife Judy of Frankfort Springs, Judy Ann Byrd and husband Jim of Jackson, Ohio, Jerry William Windsheimer of Hanover Township and T. Scott Windsheimer of Hanover Township; five grandchildren, Benjamin Windsheimer and wife Melissa, Dana Jo Chandler and husband Christopher, Kelly Rena O’Keeffe and husband Brendan, Cindy Byers and husband John, and Jimmy Byrd and wife Tara; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The last of her immediate family, deceased in addition to her parents and husband are her brothers, Steven and William Longstreth; and a sister, Jean Palas.
Friends will be received from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 25, in Lee & Martin Funeral Home, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, PA 15021, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 26, with the Rev. Dennis Arnold officiating. She will be laid to rest in Robinson’s Run Cemetery, McDonald.
