Anna Lee Bails Earnest
Anna Lee Bails Earnest, 72, of Amity, departed her life to be with her Lord, Saturday, February 27, 2021, in Premiere Washington Health Center, following a struggle with Frontal Temporal Dementia.
She was born in Washington December 14, 1948, a daughter of the late William G. and Mildred I. Briggs Bails.
She was a graduate of Penn Commercial with a degree in accounting, as well as from California University of Pennsylvania with degrees in elementary education and reading. She worked as a substitute teacher for many years in the local public schools. She was a longtime member of North Ten Mile Baptist Church Amity where she filled positions as a Sunday school teacher, choir member and Silver Star Mission Circle member. Most recently, she was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church of Ruff Creek where her son David serves as Pastor. She volunteered as treasurer for American Baptist Women’s Ministries, whom she traveled with on several short-term mission trips including Cordova, Alaska and Tijuana, Mexico. She served in multiple positions at Camp Carmel Baptist Youth Camp in Dunbar, including more than 30 years as treasurer for the Board of Managers.
She was an avid reader, interested in learning new things. She also enjoyed baking. There was always a sweet treat awaiting you in her kitchen such as pies, cakes and cookies. Her homemade buns were popular with everyone.
On March 3, 1967, she married Donald Earnest, of Amity.
Surviving, in addition to her husband of over 50 years, are her children, David Earnest (Amy), Dee Ann Amman (Travis), Daniel Earnest (Heather); grandchildren, Elijah Earnest, Josiah Earnest, Grayson Carothers, Landon Carothers, Kayleigh Earnest and Abigail Earnest.
Funeral services will be private in the Nichol Funeral Home, 1873 East Maiden Street, Washington. A guest book may be signed at www.nicholfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Camp Carmel, 323 Darr Road, Belle Vernon, PA 15012.
