Frederick Allen Ward Sr.
Frederick Allen Ward Sr., 74, of Waldorf, Md., passed away Monday, March 8, 2021. He was born July 5, 1946, in Nemacolin.
Mr. Ward retired from the U. S. Air Force in February of 1998 and later retired from civil service. During retirement, he became an active gardener and loved to travel with his wife, Johnnie.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 54 years, Johnnie Ward; his son, Frederick Ward Jr.; his daughter, Darnella J. Ward; his granddaughter, Madison “Mattie” Taylor Pigott; his brother, Booker “Terry” Ward Jr. of Nemacolin; and his uncle, Israel Ward Jr. (Audrey) of Carmichaels.
Visitation will take place from 10 a.m. until noon Saturday, March 20, in the Briscoe-Tonic Funeral Home, 2294 Old Washington Road, Waldorf, MD 20601. Military interment will be at 11:15 a.m. Monday, March 29, in Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, Md.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to one or any historically black colleges and universities or to the Boys Club of America.
