Helen Minda
Helen Minda, 94, of Avella, passed away Tuesday, March 16, 2021, in Elmcroft of Bridgeville, Senior Living Community.
She was born May 25, 1926, in Portvue, a daughter of the late John Martin and Mary Hazuga Kacik.
Mrs. Minda was a member of the St. Isidore the Farmer Parish (former St. Michael Roman Catholic Church) of Avella, where she was a member of the Christian Mothers. She was also a member of the Cross Creek Valley Senior Citizens and the Bert C. Siders Post #643 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
On August 3, 1946, she married Andrew Minda, who died April 11, 2000.
Surviving are a daughter, Nancy Jones of McMurray; two sons, Joseph (Anita) Minda of Sugarland, Texas and David (Elaine) Minda of Weirton, W.Va.; three grandsons, David, Adam and Stephen Minda.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her husband and parents, are two brothers, Michael and John Kacik; and a half sister, Barbara Katalsky.
Funeral services are private. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Avella.
