James E. Phillips
James E. “Jim” Phillips, 56, of McDonald, North Fayette Township, passed away Sunday, March 14, 2021, in his home.
Jim was born August 5, 1964, in Washington, a son of the late Frances Phillips and Rowena Harris Hoge.
Mr. Phillips was a truck driver and laborer for Liberty Lumber Co. Inc. in Canonsburg. He loved hunting and fishing, and giving back to his community through his numerous volunteer jobs. Jim enjoyed visiting Gettysburg; he had a special love for the history and the town itself. He often took many of his family members to join him on that special trip. Spending time with his family was very important to him. Jim was always there to offer a laugh, smile or a helping hand to those he cared most about.
Surviving are his siblings, Matt (Jacquelin) Davis and Jennifer (Warren Brown) Phillips; mother-in-law Georgina DuFour; sister-in-law Joyce (Tony) Dorn; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Along with his parents, James was preceded in death by his loving wife, Gaye A. DuFour Phillips (2018); and sisters Donna Andrews and Tammy Kinney.
Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 18, in Thomas-Little Funeral Service, Inc., 314 W. Lincoln Avenue, McDonald (724-926-2800). A service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 19, in the funeral home, and interment will follow at Robinson Run Cemetery.
