Veronica L. Baker
When Veronica entered Heaven Friday, March 12, 2021, she was reunited with her loving husband, Al. Al passed February 15, 2021, and Ronnie just couldn’t bear to be away from him any longer. Seventy-four years simply wasn’t enough time together and she ran straight into his arms.
Veronica was born March 26, 1925, in Washington, to her parents, Samuel and Mary Maleski.
She married Al June 21, 1947, and together they raised three daughters, Kathy Baker (Terry Kuhlmann), Barb Cass (Paul), Marci Sikora (Richard); and one son, Richard (Amy). Veronica was also blessed with nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored very much.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Joseph, Walter, Edward and John. Her sister, Mary Jane Dague, survives.
Veronica spent most of her life as a homemaker. Her hobbies included cooking, baking and growing the most beautiful flowers. Ronnie definitely had a green thumb. It was often said she could grow a rose on solid concrete and it would be a beautiful rose. Her cooking skills were also above par. Nobody ever went hungry in her home and leftovers were always plentiful. In her later years, she enjoyed having her great-grandchildren over to visit. They gave her many wonderful smiles and memories to take with her on her journey.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until noon, the hour of a blessing service, Friday, March 19, in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor / director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director. Private interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
