Lawrence R. Gaso

Lawrence R. Gaso, 76, of Bentleyville, passed away Monday morning, March 15, 2021, at the Washington Hospital.

He was born October 25, 1944, in Bentleyville, a son of Andrew L. Gaso Jr. and Margaret E. Astrop Gaso Skovran.

He was a graduate of the Mon Valley Catholic High School.

Mr. Gaso worked at the Washington Hospital Respiratory Department and later at Corning Glass in Charleroi, where he was the superintendent of safety. He also was an assistant at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home.

He was a member of Katharine Drexel Parish, the parish Resurrection Choir and was a Eucharistic minister. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 5826.

A veteran, Mr. Gaso served with the U.S. Army during Vietnam in Korea and was a member of the American Legion Post 165, Bentleyville.

Surviving are his wife, Kathleen Rohanna Gaso; children, Kristen Sproat (Bryan) of Ruff Creek, Daniel Gaso (Jodi) of Bentleyville, Joshua Gaso (Melissa) of Graysville and Jordan Gaso (Ryane) of New York City; 11 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are a brother Joseph F. Gaso Sr.; sister, Irene A. Kotchman; and stepfather, Stephen M. Skovran

A private Mass of Christian Burial was held in Saint Katharine Drexel Parish, Bentleyville Campus, with the Reverend Edward L. Yuhas, Pastor, as celebrant.

Interment was in Sacred Heart Cemetery with military honors by the American Legion Post 165 and the U.S. Army.
