Elwood J. McDougan
Elwood J. McDougan, 96, of West Middletown, passed away Saturday, March 20, 2021, in Washington Hospital.
He was born March 8, 1925, in Independence Township, a son of the late Charles M. and Nancy Ellen Andrews McDougan.
Mr. McDougan attended Avella High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II.
He worked as a company clerk at Banner Fiberboard in Wellsburg, W.Va., for more than 40 years, retiring in 1991.
Mr. McDougan was a very active member of West Middletown Christian Church.
He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, gardening and praying.
On May 4, 1950, in West Middletown, he married Pauline Yevins, who passed away April 11, 1995.
Surviving are a son, Kenneth (Denese) McDougan, and a daughter, Nancy McDougan, both of West Middletown; grandchildren Kenneth McDougan Jr., Misty (Thomas) McCombs and Chris McDougan; five great-grandchildren, Tristian, Harley, Desyre, Levi and Ashlyn; and two great-great-grandchildren, Kensley and Oliver.
Deceased, in addition to his wife of 44 years and his parents, is a half brother, Earl Moore.
Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 23, in the Jerome A. Stefkovich Funeral Home Inc., 18 Campbell Street, Avella, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 24, with Pastor Rick Bruckner officiating.
Burial will be in Independence Cemetery, Avella.
