Wanda Leaver Haddad

Wanda Leaver Haddad, 85, of New Eagle, passed away Monday morning, March 29, 2021, in Monongahela Valley Hospital.

She was born March 25, 1936, in Monongahela, a daughter of Albert and Irene Baxter Leaver.

She was a 1954 graduate of Monongahela High School and worked as a receptionist and assistant for Dr. Golomb in Monongahela.

Mrs. Haddad was a longtime member of the former St. Michael’s Antiochian Orthodox Church, Monessen, and was a current member of St. George’s Antiochian Orthodox Church, Bridgeville.

Her husband, John “Joed” Haddad, passed away November 30, 2012.

Surviving are her two sons, Joed Haddad (Rachael) of South Park and Thomas Haddad (Lisa) of Prospect; three grandchildren, Eli, Maurie and Francesca Haddad; a brother, George Leaver of Monongahela; a sister, Mabel Huffman of Monongahela; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends are welcome from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 1, in the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, 724-239-2255, where a Trisagion will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 2, in St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, 314 6th Street, Monongahela, with Father Fred Pfeil as celebrant. Facial coverings and social distancing are required. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully request memorials may be made to St. George’s Antiochian Orthodox Church, 3230 Washington Pike, Bridgeville, PA 15017.
