Cheryl Ann Scott
Cheryl Ann Scott of Washington passed comfortably in her home on Monday, November 1, 2021, surrounded by her loving family, after a prolonged illness.
She was born on November 20, 1947, and is survived by her husband, Richard.
She is also survived by her twin children, Dereck and Jamie and their families. Additionally, she is survived by her loving dogs, Feigan and Mellie, and her two cats, Lovey and Ollie.
Cheryl was originally from Imperial, and was the daughter of Clarence Fritz of Canonsburg and Evelyn Mcuen Fritz of Imperial. She also had a sister, Penny Jane, who preceded her in death.
Cheryl married Richard Scott in June of 1978, and they most recently celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary. During this time Cheryl and Richard raised their two children who have families of their own. Cheryl was able to enjoy and celebrate Jamie and her husband, Brian Dean, and their children, Logan and Brody. She also was able to celebrate and enjoy Dereck’s wife, Lara Buchko.
While a very devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Cheryl was also dedicated to having a professional career of her own.
A graduate of West Allegheny High School, she earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from California University of Pennsylvania. She was a buyer for Horne’s department store, taught business classes at the Bradford School in Pittsburgh, and was a substitute teacher at Canon-McMillan High School. However, many people will knew her as a member of the fundraising team at Sarris Candies, where she worked for more than twenty years, and could typically be found enjoying a cigarette on the back loading dock with friends and colleagues.
Though Cheryl will be cremated, her family would like to invite all friends and family to attend a visitation period from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, November 4, in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Avenue, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, Supervisor/Director, Holly Renay Warco, Director, S. Timothy Warco II, Director, Park N. Crosier, Director.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to either the Washington Area Humane Society, P.O. Box 66, Eighty Four, PA 15330 or at www.washingtonpashelter.org or to the hospice organization of one’s choice.
