Larry Johnson
Larry Johnson, 72, of Washington, died Tuesday, November 9, 2021, in the Donnell House of Concordia Hospice, Washington.
He was born June 16, 1949 in Falls Church, Va., a son of the late Douglas and Irene Corby Johnson.
Mr. Johnson was a 1967 graduate of Falls Church High School and went on to study engineering at Virginia Tech. He was the director of the welding company Bug-O Systems.
He enjoyed woodworking, coaching his girls in softball and basketball, reading, the theater, and sports, including Virginia Tech collegiate sports and the Steelers.
He was a member of the Arms Club in Washington.
On May 25, 1974 he married Bonnie Schlegel in North Huntington. Mrs. Johnson survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Renee (Jason) Sefcik of Pickerington, Ohio, and Amy (Steven) Wagers of Washington; four grandchildren, Christopher, Nathan, and Anna Sefcik and Addison Wagers; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a sister, Alice Tillery and a brother, Dean Johnson.
Friends will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, in the Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 12, 2021. All other services will be private.
