Shawn M. Leonard, Sr.
Shawn M. Leonard, Sr., 48, of Washington, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, in the Washington Hospital with his family at his side, following a courageous battle with COVID-19.
He was born September 9, 1973, in Sewickley, the son of Alfred M. Leonard, Jr. of Washington and the late Ruth Ann Snatchko Leonard.
Mr. Leonard was a 1991 graduate of Washington High School. He was employed for 24 years as a fence foreman for Seward Fence Company. Mr. Leonard loved his job and was a very hard worker.
He loved classic cars especially Camaros. Mr. Leonard also enjoyed trout fishing. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Mr. Leonard loved his family and they meant everything to him. He will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him.
On July 27, 1996 he married Jamie L. Constant who survives. Also surviving is a son, Shawn M. (Julie) Leonard, Jr. of Smith Twp.; a daughter, Chyann M. (Christian) Schaub of Washington; two sisters, Paula (Paul) Howard of Ellsworth and Tammy (Mark) Post of Hickory; four grandchildren, Kyle, Brock, Linley and Blake; mother-in-law, Maxine I. Balazy of Washington; and a sister-in-law, Jody (Dean) Mazutis of Eighty Four. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Leonard was preceded in death by his step-father-in-law, Stanley Balazy.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturday, November 27, 2021, in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Avenue, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, Supervisor/Director, Holly Renay Warco, Director, S. Timothy Warco II, Director, Park N. Crosier, Director.
A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. on Saturday in the funeral home, with the Rev. Jodi Flack officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Slovan Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 429 Burgettstown.
