Janet May Barger
Janet May Barger, 88, of Washington, died Thursday, November 25, 2021, in Hawthorne Woods Assisted Living, Washington.
She was born July 19, 1933, in New Castle, a daughter of the late Edwin Theodore and Dorothy Wagner Armstrong.
Janet graduated from Princeton High School and Butler Hospital School of Nursing – RN program.
She was a homemaker, who loved cats and reading, was an avid Steelers fan, and a wonderful cook and baker.
On September 4, 1954, Janet married Bernard Barger, who died September 15, 2015, after 61 years of marriage.
Surviving is a son, Timothy (Patricia Geary) Barger of Washington; daughters, Lorrie (Thomas) Sherron of Hockessin, Del., and Jill (Tim) Barger McVaugh of Mars; a sister, Jayne (Gary) Hoover of Newport Richey, Fla.; grandchildren, Denise, Jessica, David, Ian, Aaron, Haley and Dillon; great-grandchildren, Evan, Austin and Kenzie.
Janet was preceded in death by her sister, Joan McClearn.
At the request of the deceased, all services were private and entrusted to William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, PA 15301.
